anniversary traditions

This weekend Tommy and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary.  WHAT A YEAR WE'VE HAD!  Getting married, graduating school, moving across the country, starting residency, and having a baby - goodness gracious.  I'm exhausted just thinking about all we've done.

i looooove Burlington!  Everywhere we ate served food using local ingredients...amazing.
We decided to celebrate our survival love by taking a weekend trip to Vermont.  It's a place we like to pretend we will move someday...it's so picturesque and lovely.  This time we checked out Burlington - a place we've never been - it is just so rad! (It reminded me a lot of Flagstaff - except with a lake, better shopping and better restaurants...and no pretty mountain on the horizon).  It felt like a place that we could call home.
my fave part of the whole trip - just hanging with my fam on the HUGE king size bed

So it has begun...a new tradition for us...traveling on our anniversary weekend.  Lucky for us, our anniversary will always fall somewhere around Memorial Day weekend - an expensive time for travel - but the perfect time for travel none-the-less.
stupid GPS - took us the most ass backwards route to Vermont
Bits and parts of the weekend were romantic and sweet.  Some of it was slightly stressful - thanks to traveling with a GPS and no map (we had  a map in the house, but realized we left it as we were pulling out of the driveway...figured "what the heck, let's have an adventure!"  That was a mistake.  But we survived.

Along the drive we talked about all of the places we like to see someday.  Dreaming is so fun.  I wonder where we will go next year?  I'm thinking Montreal.

  2. Aww, I love Burlington! My sister spent the summer there a few years ago, and I got to visit her. Montreal is pretty great, too. For our anniversary last year, we went camping at Robert Moses Campground in upstate NY, and took a day trip to Montreal. I'd definitely recommend it. I'd love to go back to both of these places and spend more time at each one!

  4. If you go to Montreal, you should go to Quebec City too! :) (It is beautiful and very European...)

  6. Vermont sounds awesome! I wish we could make it there this summer, but I don't think it's going to work out. Maybe next year?

P.S. How do you like your ERGO?
