one year in one week

How did a year happen so fast?  I blinked and 365 days went soaring by.  And yet...at the same time....how full of life these 365 days have been.  Everyone says that babies grow so fast...and time flies...but it's unbelievable that everyone is right. 

My darling girl is turning ONE in one week.   ONE. I can't even believe it. ONE YEAR OLD.

Tommy and I heard from lots of folks that having a baby would change everything...and we knew it would...we just didn't really know what that meant.  And well...they were right again.  Everything is different now.  Everything.  Yes there is more laundry....and most of our treasures have been packed up so her cardboard books and Pooh bear can have shelf space.  We clean bottles 'round the clock and have to budget in things like diapers and daycare.  But really....life with her has a magical glow.  The mundane is adventure-filled.  Watching her experience the wonders of childhood sounds like the best thing in the world.  She has exploded my heart open to the extent I didn't know was possible.   She has made me fall even more in love with my husband...now I love him as an incredible Daddy.  She has brought us closer together.  She has given me a reason to work harder than I knew I could.  She has inspired me to want to be a better, more loving, more accepting person.  My dreams are more vivid.  My goals more steadfast.  She has become my happiness, my joy, and my life.

I didn't know a baby could do that.  


This has been the best year of my life. 


*note:  I'm driving home tonight after my clubfoot clinic office hours...it's been a couple weeks since I've seen her so you can imagine my crazy delight!!  it will be a bliss filled weekend playing peek-a-boo and singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
