what the flip!?

Slight crisis. Haven't had time to really internalize or think about it or anything. I just found out that one of my cousins will be getting married MAY 30, 2010 in CHICAGO. Unbelievable. (In case you are new to this blog...that's our wedding day too). However, we are still waiting to become officially engaged...which at this particular moment in time seems utterly ridiculous...so our families STILL have no idea. So. Here I sit. Knowing full well that one entire side of the family will not be attending my wedding...as they all live in the Midwest....and they don't even know I'm getting married at all.

I'm soooooooooooooo bummmmmed. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Eff that Murphy and his damn laws.

  1. Oh girl! I hear you and understand! But you gotta just pick the date that is important to you, its always going to be someones wedding day, birthday, anniversary....

Do you think you'll change it or will you keep that day?

  2. Hi there, I've been enjoying your blog for several weeks now and been meaning to drop a line. We are having a mountain wedding too but in Australia. I LOVE your style and the ideas you have been sharing, they have been fantastic. I'm so sorry to hear about your date debacle! What a pain. I was wondering what the references to your family not knowing were about. I am sure it will work itself out, these things always do and once it does you'll look back on it and realise it worked out even better. Though I don't know what solace that will provide you right now. Still sending lots of good wishes and good karma your way from the other side of the globe!!

  5. oh no that is too bad. i guess if it was me, i wouldn't mind so much not having certain relatives at my wedding, but it all depends on what's most important to you. do you think this is going to lend a push towards your official engagement?

  6. Yikes. Is your date at all flexible?

  7. Oh no! We had to work our wedding around IronMan Canada, Labor Day and Interbike. I can't even imagine having to deal with conflict with another family wedding.

Why did you choose May 30? Is it flexible?

  8. Oh no! Stick with your gut. Either change the date (if you really want everyone to be able to attend) or stick with the date if it's important to you. We had so many people complain about our wedding date, which we announced within days of our "engagement" (ahem, same situation as you). His sister, my sister, another family member. Too late... it's our date.
