I took them to Bookman's, the raddest used bookstore EVER! Wedding mags are at a premium there, and they pay top dollar. I made 30 bucks in store credit!!!! What did I buy? A bunch of hardcover classic beauties. (Just what I need before a big cross country move, I know I know, but they are so lovely!!!)

Our bookman's roof caved in during the huge snowstorm this year and destroyed the building AND all it's book (and apparently bridal magazines). Love that place... saw a notice to say they are indeed going to rebuild and reopen. Relieved :)
ReplyDeletewhat a score! oh...and i did see the bookmans in flagstaff destroyed when i was there in february...so sad when you think of all the books in there!happy to hear they are reopening!
ReplyDeleteI passed all mine on to friends/co-workers who have gotten engaged over the past year...So cool you exchanged them for legit books, nice!
ReplyDeleteYou may be the only person I know who turned those tedious magazines into something wonderful. I agree with Ruthy Ann. What a score!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delight to make money rather than hemorrhage it the week before your wedding!
ReplyDeleteA smart cookie indeed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI also believe I am in some sort of mailing list, I keep getting this wedding magazine for free that I can't remember ever signing up for it :-)

Very smart and useful (just bequeathed mine to friends)! I LOVE classics! Just reread "Emma" recently - like a modern day "Clueless" hehe.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful trade! I so agree with you about bridal magazines. They're fun to flip through sometimes, but they offer very little value. Unless, of course, you are a very wealthy woman who wants to have a pristine. commercial wedding.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love "Emma."
