Originally, I was going to be in Arizona this weekend, partaking in my 10 year high school reunion. Both Tommy and I had the weekend off - except, I couldn't get Friday or Monday off (due to having to use my days off for my "maternity leave" in the spring). Needless to say, I was sulking a bit.
We then made plans to go spend the weekend in DC with some friends. And then that fell through. So Thursday night we decided to take advantage of the weekend and hit The City. (Tommy and I haven't had a weekend off at the same time in FOUR months!)
Needless to say, it was fantastic. I only took 6 or 7 pictures of the whole weekend - I was
preoccupied with just being there...which happens to me every time. And then I get super annoyed with myself for missing such fantastic picture opportunities. Oh well.

random NYC sculpture ... the foot surgeon in me had to take a picture. |
And then this is the weird sh*t that I take pictures of. Yea. I don't know. I was amused.

I've been to NYC dozens of times...this was literally the first time I didn't go to the
MET. We only had time for one museum and Tommy hadn't been to the
Whitney yet, (and I hadn't been in years!) so we hit that up. I totally recommend the guided tour as it brings so much of the artwork to life - which was
amazing.

such a sucker for the city's beautiful homes |
We spent the majority of the weekend just moseying around the upper east side. It wasn't a tourist jungle...we've done that bit many times (always a blast...but we were in the mood for a more mellow New York experience this time).
The upper east side is so comfortable - you slip right into the landscape - it becomes your neighborhood. I LOVE it there. We ate ridiculous amounts of food (including
pinkberry TWICE!), and marvelled at the exquisite architecture of the beautiful brownstones.

where we called home (and the only picture of us from the weekend!) |
I'm kinda bummed we didn't take more pictures of us on this trip. In fact, there are only a couple pictures of us SINCE we got married!! Why is that?
I'm already planning our next trip into The City - hopefully next month! Wishful thinking.
Yeah, but what pictures you did take are great! You look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYou are so dang cute....and very fashionable!
ReplyDeleteYou do look great, Jes.
ReplyDeleteAnd sometimes "being in the moment" is better than taking photos. Sometimes taking photos helps you see what you're looking at in a different way ... but on occasion it can interfere with the actual experience. Looks like you struck a good balance.
oh look at your bump! you're adorable!
ReplyDeleteSo jealous! When I come visit we have to see everything! Ahh I want to go :)
ReplyDeleteThat foot sculpture is cray-zee.
ReplyDeleteYou are cute!
Do you think you could live in NYC longterm?
