baby shower

Remember me telling you about how my new New York friends wanted to throw me a baby shower?  Well...they did last weekend and it was fantastic!  Given all of our crazy hectic nutso schedules as residents at the hospital, the fact that these ladies threw me a party was just amazing and such a generous gift of their time and love.
the cake - freaking CUTEST damn thing I've ever eaten!  There was actually a TON of food...it was pretty much heaven for a pregnant woman.  My friends drank mimosas and I ate and ate and ate!

I have NO idea how she did it with the zero time we've had lately...but my girl Amanda knit our baby one of her famous lil blankets!!  Oh - it is just divine. (also...check out the snow...lots and lots of snow)

They ooohed and awwwed over each ADORABLE gift and I was smiling ear to ear...and stories of crazy deliveries were at a minimum (it's funny when you get 10 residents together and start talking babies, the stories of Ob/Gyn and Peds rotations start to come out!  Some stories are funny - and some are rather freaky!)

I've decided baby showers are wonderful, and just so fun/necessary for the parents-to-be...where onesies and pacifiers and bottles are given...such a blessing.  It was nice to bask in those moments of ALMOST motherhood with other ladies...some who were mothers...some who want to be mothers...some who don't quite know yet...and some who are too young to even think about such things.

a handful of my sweet new friends...without these ladies residency wouldn't be as fun (umm..or as bearable!)

adorable pastel "baby" stuff was EVERYWHERE!

oh heck yes we played silly games (and there were fun prizes!)
one of the "stations" of food....where I spent a lot of happy happy time :-)

nothing quite like perfect pink roses to make a gal feel special

the sweet little favors I gave everyone...handmade potpourri from NatureFavors.
The Romantic Rose was my favorite flavor.  These little sachets were a hit!
(NatureFavors also did our wedding favors!)

the shoes I thought about wearing to the party for a hot minute...didn't happen...felt like I was going to topple over.  Notice that beautiful baby blanket on the chair....great colors and fantastic pattern...from my girl Abbie :-)

  1. Awwww, this looks amazing!! Isn't it the best when your friends go out of their way to plan something for you? Siiiiigh...And now I'm feeling a bit sad bc Jewish people don't do baby showers (superstitious) so I won't have one whenever I get preggie but it looks like fun!

  2. FUN! Those blankets are beautiful! Baby showers are necessary, because what first-time parents have that stuff lying around?
