meet our lil girl - 3D pics are in!

Some people get kinda freaked out by 3D images of babies in-utero - I, however, am amazed by them...and this one MADE ME DIE!!  We can see her face, her tiny smirk...such a pretty little thing she is.  She's so very well behaved these days too - despite the horrendous schedule I subject her to.  I think she finds the emergency department to be a tad too stressful as well - that's when she really lets her limbs fly.  But she is so good while I'm in the operating room, and she never (ummm....well....rarely) keeps me up when I need to sleep with squiggling and squirming.  *sigh* I just love her.

This whole pregnancy thing is so amazing.  My belly grows bigger EVERY FREAKING DAY.  Still!  It's sooo round now, and OUT there.  It looks like I swallowed a basketball - haha - a perfectly round basketball.  literally.  I cannot bend over at all...like...at all...can't tie my shoes or pick things up when I drop them (well, technically I can, but it's a rather mortifying spectacle that involves subtle grunting, awkward positioning and actual pain in my abdomen - so I refrain.  Also, nothing but my new maternity clothes fit me anymore (and I only have 4 tops!  haha!).  It's a good thing I bought those when I did.

I stare at these images of our daughter's face all the time.  I wonder how true they are.  She looks like my hubby's side of the family...and a little bit like me too...right?  I wonder if she will be a happy smiley baby?  A crier?  A mover and a shaker?  A cuddler?  Doesn't matter really...she's ours...and I just can't wait to meet her (well... hopefully not a screamer/crier...but if she is than she is and we'll love her anyway)

Who do you think she looks like??

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

*note:  we got the results of the fetal-echocardiogram months ago - forgot to mention that - and her heart is perfecto :-)  Praise God!  Tommy and I really hit it off with the fab ultrasound tech at the hospital that day because she totally hooked us up and blessed us with these amazing 3D images of our baby's face...we never could have afforded them otherwise (our insurance doesn't cover 3D ultrasounds...don't even get me started on my insurance...grrrrr)

*another note - today I start another month on the medicine floors.  Rough work ahead.  Long days, long nights and swollen ankles await.  Oh residency.

  4. Whoa! I haven't seen very many 3-D ultrasounds, so this is a shock! I think she looks like Tommy! Of course, her face will be chubbier by the time she's born.

Take care of her and yourself, Jes.

  11. RE: 3D ultrasounds.

I'm curious: Did you study 3D ultrasounds in medical school? If so, how safe do you think they are and how many "times" would you recommend that a pregnant mama get them?

P.S. She is super sweet. I can't wait until you hold her in your arms for the very 1st time. There is nothing like it!
