My sisters made the trek from Arizona to New York this past weekend to meet their niece (and spend some solid sister time with yours truly). Best weekend ever.
Makes me want to move back to Arizona if only to be closer to them. I never really thought that I would want that - to pick the location of where I wanted to live to be based only on where my family lived...because well...there are so many more desirable locations in our gorgeous country. Don't get me wrong, there are some great features to living in the desert...but Tommy and I dreamed of raising our kiddos with trees, grass, flowers, and seasons.
Yet, at this point, I just don't know if living in the most beautiful place in the world could compensate for not having my fam around. Because family is also important. VERY important. Especially since we dig each other so much. Clara really loved her Aunt's too...boy did they spoil her! We already miss them like crazy.

I 100% understand how you feel about living far from family. We would like to eventually settle down close to our hometown area in California, but we're not sure that's going to happen. The cost of living in the Bay Area is insane! Not to mention our immediate area is becoming more and more run down and ghetto. I don't want my kids to grow up living like that. But all our family is there, so we'll see what happens. :)
ReplyDeleteMake your family move to where you want to be! LOL
ReplyDeleteI never thought I'd be the kind of person who would choose where to live based on proximity to family. Especially since they live in a (perfectly nice but) fairly unexciting area. But after my dad passed away... I realized being close to family means an awful lot more to me than living in a particular city. Surprised me. Thankfully, my husband shares this feeling AND his family lives in the same area. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable little baby! Having family around can definitely be helpful- it all depends on the family, I suppose.
ReplyDelete9 months ago we moved to San Francisco from Austin....1800 miles
ReplyDeleteWe just moved back to Austin 2 weeks ago, it was because of family! I totally get what your saying :)
the landscape looks very amazing and the baby looks very cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking the same way! There are so many beautiful, happening places all around the world...but nothing can quite compare to being near family.
