Spent the 4th of July weekend in Rhode Island - ate some Iggy's chowdah, enjoyed Del's lemonade, indulged in a few too many clamcakes, visited with our friends and family and took Clara to see the ocean for the first time.
It was PERFECT beach weather in Rhody...and the beaches were crazy full of families with brightly colored umbrellas and big coolers. The water, as it always is this early in the season, was freaking freezing...I couldn't even get in past my ankles...I'm a chicken when it comes to cold water.
Clara was hilarious - she didn't seem to love the cold water either - nor was she a big fan of the sand...umm...or the sun in her eyes. Hahaha - we don't so much have a beach loving baby (yet)! Next summer... when she can build sand castles... will be much better!
