I hope my little girl has this in her future...of wearing a superhero cape and playing make believe. I remember doing that. Sometimes I wonder what little kids are like now...it's been such a long time since I was one.

I don't have any children yet, but I have plenty of friends who do and I've noticed a difference in some. My friends who encourage reading, drawing/coloring, music and outside playtime, esp with other children, have kids who are always coming up with their own games and stories with great imagination. Those who tend more towards 'Babysitter TV', are nearly always on the computer and rarely take the kids outside beyond the backyard tend to have children less imaginative.
ReplyDeleteGranted, this is only what I have observed in the children of my friends and family. From your blog, I believe your daughter will grow up with a rich imagination that will stay with her throughout her life.
Oh, yes. I remember playing superhero with my brother all the time...with towels around our necks for capes! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso - my 4-year-old often has dreams about flying. She tells me all about them in the morning.
