colorful baby spaces
I love color, and a baby room is the perfect place to bust out some pretty colors and funky fabrics. I wish we could do things like paint our white walls and hang long brilliantly colored and textured curtains (we can't, they are a fire hazard here). It would also be so fun to have an extra couple hundred bucks to buy a fun rug...a nice dresser and a modern rocking chair. Ha! Big wish list huh!
These rooms are so fantastic they are just DRIPPING with inspiration. I like that they aren't all matchy matchy - but more on the eclectic side. I like that they aren't really screaming a color scheme...or are entirely the same print from the bedding to the curtains to the rugs. I like that they are still whimsical and childlike but not too cutesy cutesy.
I love them all!! I wonder how ours will turn out. Hummm.

Well, some of them have white walls. You have to hang posters/pictures. One the the prettiest children's bedrooms I've ever seen in my life was in an apartment with white walls. The mother had a way with decorating. I've never forgotten it.
ReplyDeleteWow, i love the different looks for the baby spaces. Each one does provide a different feel. I hope i can get creative when its our time to figure out our baby space!
ReplyDeleteIf you live in a space where you can't paint white walls, another option is putting fabric up on the wall. All you do is "paint" liquid fabric starch on the wall, then press on the fabric. It works best with lighter colored fabrics. There's a tutorial at eHow.com. We did this in our daughter's room and it worked great and also came off great 3 years later.
ReplyDeleteThat vintage cot in the second picture is the most fantastic thing ever. And it's yellow. Brilliant. When our time comes, i'm hunting that one down!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what your nursery turns out like - but I know it'll be so gorgeous! xx
