my photobook anniversary gift

My anniversary gift to Tommy was a Mixbook photobook completely customized by me.  It was the visual narrative of our first year as husband and wife - we had a doozy of a year together and I wanted to capture those moments in a way that we would never forget them.

Up to this point, I have made photo books from Kodak, Snapfish, and Shutterfly...but honestly...Mixbook was, by far, the best.  The best custom options, best backgrounds, best layouts and best add on stickers do-dads to add to the pages.   A bit like scrap booking.  However, there are options to add your own pictures to their amazing pre-made backgrounds as well - next time I might do that.

The fist thing I noticed when I got the book in the mail was that the picture quality was sharp and fantastic.  I  poured over this book and am very proud of the results.   It was a surprise for Tommy, and I think he was touched with the sentimentality of it all.  I can't wait to start on Clara's baby photobook!

By the way, Tommy's gift to me was a pair of Rollerblades with all the protective gear...so fun!

  1. What a great anniversary present! I used mixbook to put together my wedding album and I really like them too. And thanks so much for the really sweet things you posted about my quilt yesterday:) The project is really special to me because it's a memento from my wedding and it's a skill my grandmother is passing down to me. It's pretty impressive that did yours start to finish all by yourself!

  2. i did the same thing for my husband on our first anniversary. he liked it so much we plan to make it a yearly tradition. since we don't always print out our digital photos it is so nice to have some to look at on paper once in awhile.

  3. That is such a wonderful present! Nothing beats photos (and videos) since they capture moments that will never be repeated. The ones of your daughter will be absolute treasures!

  6. Thanks for sharing about Mixbook! I've never heard of it, but I'll keep it in mind for the future.

Also - rollerblades! You are brave! I think I've only used a pair once in my life...when I was about 10!
