preparing for the storm + clara pics

It was the nicest day out...I can't believe it is all about to change with this upcoming storm.  I've heard rumors that this storm is suppose to be WORSE than the one we had last year.  The one that left us without electricity or water for close to 7 solid days.  We evacuated once the roads were clear.

So today, I was a doomsday prepper...in between bouts of playing outside and crunching leaves with Clara.    (Isn't she growing so fast!?  She is only 1 1/2 but she is such a little lady!)

I have already come to terms that if a zombie apocalypse occurs (ie: natural/man made disaster throw down), I will be one of the first to go.  I don't own a gun...and if I happen to come across one, I won't know how to use it.  I can't make a fire out of anything but a lighter and lots and lots of fuel.  I can't cook things without directions...or electricity.  My girl scout training in survivial skills revolved around my bandana and how many ways I could tie it to brace a broken arm or sprained ankle if out hiking. Oh.  And how to change a tire.  Which I've also never had to do in real life.  I don't even know how to REALLY around town without my GPS.  So, have I established the fact that in these extreme situations I get nervous because I am worthless at protecting myself and my family?  That was long winded.

I spent a small fortune buying diapers and wipes and squeezable baby foods at Babies R Us.  Also hit up the store for a couple cases of water, some soups, a loaf of bread, ice, a pack of batteries for our flashlights and put gas in my car.  I am going back tomorrow for paper plates, freezer bags, and emergency candles...if anything is left...oh and I need to get cash out of an ATM...something I don't think I have done in years! (I heard via Facebook that stores in town are already out of bread, water and milk!  Yikes!)

To complicate the whole arrangement, I am a single mama this weekend!  Tommy is out of the state attending a friend's wedding.  I really wish he was here!  This is stressful!
